The Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation has announced that Westoba Credit Union has made a major contribution of $50,000 in support of the BRHC Foundation “Room for Renewal” patient ward renovation campaign.

“The Brandon Regional Health Centre provides such valuable services to so many Manitobans,” says Larry Wark, Chair of the Westoba Credit Union Board of Directors. “Westoba is proud to support the BRHC Foundation’s Room for Renewal campaign and help make the time people spend at the Health Centre more comfortable.”

Westoba is the sixth largest credit union in Manitoba with 21 branches located in 17 communities across the province. Each year, Westoba gives more than $350,000 in donations and sponsorships to a variety of organizations, programs and events.

“Westoba believes in giving back to and supporting the communities we serve, and also live and work in,” explains Jim Rediger, CEO of Westoba Credit Union. “The Brandon Regional Health Centre is important infrastructure that we all have a responsibility to take care of because it touches so many lives. The impact of this campaign is wide reaching and Westoba is happy to be a part of it.”

The BRHC Foundation “Room for Renewal” campaign was launched in September of 2014 with a goal to raise $600,000 in support of the upcoming renovation of patient wards at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. The patient impact of this project will be increased bed numbers, creation of single and semi-private rooms, updated bathrooms, and more. The Westoba Credit Union donation brings the total cash and pledges raised to date to approximately $535,000.
