The Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation is proud to launch A Foundation for Care, a new campaign to support the Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) expansion project currently underway.

A Foundation for Care has the goal of raising $2 million to support the construction of the BRHC’s new Critical Care building, along with needed equipment. Once completed the project will feature:

• A new 16-bed Intensive Care Unit on the main level.
• Approximately 30 additional medical beds on the 2nd level.
• Mechanical space on the 3rd level. 
• And the 4th level will be shell space for potential future expansions.

This expansion will provide our healthcare staff with additional space and better equipment to meet the increasing demands of our healthcare system in Westman and will improve overall patient care. Any additional funds received over the campaign goal will be allocated to the areas of greatest need, as determined by the BRHC Foundation Board of Directors.

As of January 2025, construction to expand clinical spaces within the BRHC campus continues, with work on the new critical care bed tower addition approximately 70 per cent complete. Work continues in January to complete the structural steel for the 4th floor link. Flooring is complete in both wings on the main floor and north wing on the 2nd  floor. On the first floor, drywall is painted and wall protection installed.

The ‘eyebrow’ architectural feature on the 4th floor of the building’s east side is closed in with windows expected to arrive and be installed in 2025.

The latest schedule will have the first patients arriving within the new areas during winter of 2026.
